Following the lead set by Gap and Zara, one of the world’s most popular lingerie brands is all set for its Australian debut.

Victoria’s Secret already has an Australian super model on their books – Aussie stunner Miranda Kerr is one of their Angels, regularly dressed in the brands stunning lingerie!

Believe it or not, Victoria’s Secret was created by a man, Roy Raymond. After feeling embarrassed when buying lingerie for his wife he opened a store in San Francisco in 1977. After five years and the opening of six stores Roy sold the company for $4 million USD. The buyer chose to keep the successful Victoria’s Secret name and entered a period of rapid expansion. Traditional lines were complemented by evening wear, sleepwear, shoes and cosmetics.

International expansion has already occurred in Canada, Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates whilst the UK is set to get a flagship store in 2012 in London’s Bond Street.

Victoria’s Secret has its own annual fashion show which is shown on primetime US television. With lavish sets, music, lighting and celebrity guests, the show acts as a huge promotion for their merchandise.

With younger customers in mind, the PINK sub-brand was created aimed at the late teens age group. The range includes underwear, beauty products and accessories. Other Victoria’s Secret Australia sub-brands are set to include Secret Moments, Sexy Little Things, VS Makeup and Very Sexy Fragrance.
